overview Welcome to the BankEcon site. The site is maintained by Peter Welch, an industry consultant. It is designed to be both a source of information on my latest banking research and a helpful source of leads on European and international banking. Research I published both short bulletins and longer research reports on current topics in banking, some freely available for download. Topics range across the measurement of bank efficiency and performance, the role of brands in banking and the impact of non-banks such as retailers on the financial services market. Consultancy In search of specific research on some aspect of European banking - for example, information on a particular market or a pan-European comparison of particular segment? I am familiar with the main sources of data on European banking, and able to use this expertise to undertake bespoke research projects for clients. Projects may range from preparing a few context-setting slides for an important presentation to more in-depth studies in support of business development plans.
